Memories of the Melted is an interactive climate art installation that transforms over 130,000 scientific data points about glacier decline into a real-time, multisensory experience. Visitors use hand gestures to navigate through time (1890s to 2100) and adjust temperature scenarios while interacting with a physical ice sheet that drips water at rates corresponding to projected glacier melt. The installation combines AI-powered generative art, motion sensors, projection mapping, and synchronized soundscapes to visualize the Rhône Glacier's past, present, and future states under different climate scenarios. Created in collaboration with leading glaciologists, it bridges scientific accuracy with emotional engagement for policy makers, educators, and the general public.
